HERMANUS WHALE WATCHING
Every year between June and November hundreds of Southern Right Whales visit the shore of the historical fishing village of Hermanus, located a mere hour and a half from Cape Town and known as the Whale Sanctuary Capital.
The journey takes us through the picturesque Sir Lowry's Pass, were one can enjoy spectacular views of False Bay all the way to Cape Point. As well as the Houw Hoek's Pass to enjoy the fields of the bright yellow canola flowers covering the magnificent countryside.
Tucked between the mountain slopes and the rocky shores Hermanus is home to various local craft markets and delicious restaurants. Here you have the chance to whale spot from the magnificent cliffs or take part in a exciting boat cruise*
Other marine life that can be spotted include Humpback Whales, Orcas, Brydes Whales and Dolphins.
Lunch can be served at a restaurant by the sea or at a spectacular wine estate in the Hemel en Aarde Valley renowned for their exquisite food and award winning Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
